Matthew Austin is an indie folk singer-songwriter from Manchester, UK, who moved to Munich, DE, in 2015.

This year he will release his first solo songs, having previously played in various bands, including the indie blues rock band Matthew Matilda, which was formed in Munich, Germany, in 2017. In the UK his band ‘The Fayre’ were regulars in the Manchester Indie scene supporting Pete Doherty on mutiple occasions as well as playing support for The Specials. With support from Starwood management (Michael Kiwanuka/ The Kooks) the band played Glastonbury Festival 2010.

Since moving to Munich, Austin has been creatively collaborating with many different projects in the Music scene. Most recently he wrote songs for feature film ‘Die Academie’ that premiered at München Filmfest 2023. He also wrote lyrics for Me & Marie’s 2018 Album ‘Double Purpose’. With his solo project he’s played support for many artists including, Jordan Prince, Anna St Louis, Henny Herz, and in 2022 he toured with Ami Warning on her ‘Kurz vor ende der Welt’ tour. He was also a collaborator and played guitar on her new 2024 Album ‘Auszeit’.
